Who we are

Stechhomes Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), registered at Rear Warehouse Unit A, Field Industrial Estate, Clover Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17 7LH, is the data controller for personal data collected through stechhomes.co.uk.

What data we collect

To process orders we collect:

Your name and contact details (email, phone, billing and shipping addresses)
Payment details — collected directly by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers
Order history (items, quantities, prices, timestamps)
Basic, cookie-free traffic counts (Vercel Web Analytics) — and, only if you accept our cookie notice, Google Analytics usage data (pages visited, products viewed/bought, device type)

How we use it

To fulfil your order and provide customer service
To send you order updates by email
To comply with UK tax and consumer law record-keeping requirements
With your explicit consent, to send occasional marketing emails — opt out anytime

Who we share it with

Stripe (payments) — see stripe.com/gb/privacy
Couriers (DPD, Tuffnells, Royal Mail, Evri) for delivery
Resend (transactional email delivery)
Google (analytics — only if you accept the cookie notice; see Cookies & analytics)
HMRC, where required by law

How long we keep it

Order records: 6 years (UK VAT requirement). Marketing-consent records: until you opt out. Analytics: aggregated and anonymised; individual identifiers not retained.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Have inaccurate data corrected
Have your data erased, subject to legal record-keeping requirements (VAT records cannot be erased before they expire)
Object to or restrict processing
Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
Withdraw consent for marketing at any time
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk)

Cookies & analytics

Strictly necessary (no consent needed): a small number of cookies are essential for the site to work — the checkout/payment session (Stripe), sign-in for our own staff admin, and the cookie that remembers your cookie choice itself (stech-consent— storing your refusal is how we honour it). Your basket contents are kept in your own browser's local storage and never leave your device until you check out.

Optional analytics (only with your consent):if you click "Accept" on our cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to understand how the shop is used — which products people view, add to the basket and buy — so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*, kept up to 2 years) and processes the data on our behalf (Google LLC — see Google's privacy policy). If you decline, nothing is loaded and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time via Cookie settings in the footer; we remember your choice for about 6 months, then ask again. No advertising cookies are used either way.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics for basic, cookie-free traffic counts (no cookies set, no personal profile built).
